Cosmic Contemporary Jazz / Tachyon merge cosmic soundscapes, gritty grooves and echoes of jazz fusion, with acrobatic improvisation and dynamic interplay underpinned by melodic and funky bass, making for exhilarating and diverse new music. Headed by band leader, drummer and composer Tom Dickson, this dynamic group from the Royal Academy’s prolific Jazz program takes inspiration from artists such as Troyka, Jim Hart and Orlando Le Fleming’s ‘Romantic Funk’.

Good Evening has been collaborating with the Royal Albert to present great live music every Sunday night for over a decade. The program is rooted in Jazz ranging from its earliest forms to cutting edge contemporary fusions and everything in between, played by an ever growing circle of musicians from modern day masters to rising stars.
