GOOD EVENING – LIVE JAZZ: SURFACE TENSION

Surface Tension reference an eclectic mix of styles, influenced as much by Béla Bartók as James Brown. Inspired by and embracing the dynamic relationship between composition and improvisation the music explores different forms of musical storytelling - from large-scale journeys, through angular ritualistic loops, to multi-geared solo-coaster rides.

GOOD EVENING – LIVE JAZZ: SURFACE TENSION

March 2 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Contemporary Jazz / Groove

Surface Tension reference an eclectic mix of styles, influenced as much by Béla Bartók as James Brown. Inspired by and embracing the dynamic relationship between composition and improvisation the music explores different forms of musical storytelling – from large-scale journeys, through angular ritualistic loops, to multi-geared solo-coaster rides. Expect intricate compositions with staccato melodies, interlocking with and deftly deconstructed, abstracted and reimagined over snappy contemporary grooves!

Luke Bainbridge – Drums

Kieran McLeod – Trombone

Ralph Wyld – Vibraphone

Huw V Williams (HON) – Bass

Good Evening has been collaborating with the Royal Albert to present great live music every Sunday night for over a decade. The program is rooted in Jazz ranging from its earliest forms to cutting edge contemporary fusions and everything in between, played by an ever growing circle of musicians from modern day masters to rising stars.
