Tenor Saxophonist Nye Banfield brings raw, earthy, modern jazz with influences from folk and classical music composed in response to reconnecting with his home county Leicestershire, it’s character, characters and contrast to London. Dark, gripping and intensely expressive, the music reflects “the various trails we all go down in life, and the traces that are left on us by people, places and things that mean the world to us”. Expect flavours from 60s Blue Note records, 90s Radiohead, 20th century classical music and contemporary New York Jazz.

Good Evening has been collaborating with the Royal Albert to present great live music every Sunday night for over a decade. The program is rooted in Jazz ranging from its earliest forms to cutting edge contemporary fusions and everything in between, played by an ever growing circle of musicians from modern day masters to rising stars.
