Flamenco / Contemporary Jazz

Saxophonist, flutist and composer Anna Chai brings original music interweaving the cross-rhythms and expressive interpretations of Southern Spain’s flamenco traditions, the tabla-based cycles of Indian classical and the phrasing, melodic and harmonic approaches of hard bop and modal jazz. Expect powerful, multi coloured and diversely emotive music combining Chai’s most resonant influences, realised by a striking ensemble with a rich, raw musicality.

Good Evening has been collaborating with the Royal Albert to present great live music every Sunday night for over a decade. The program is rooted in Jazz ranging from its earliest forms to cutting edge contemporary fusions and everything in between, played by an ever growing circle of musicians from modern day masters to rising stars.
